In the millenium version of this classic Gothic horror we find Abraham Van Helsing (Plummer), who has tangled with Count Dracula (Butler) in the past, working as an English antiques dealer. Simon (Miller) is a vampire hunter in training under his apprenticeship. Van Helsing and Simon travel from London to New Orleans to rescue Van Helsing’s daughter Mary (Waddell) from the family’s life long nemesis - Dracula.

In this sometimes moving dark comedy, Broderick plays Ben-a failed children’s folk singer and less-than-extraordinary weekend dad. Deeply cynical, Ben’s sole pleasure in life is derived from chess games with his Senegalese roommate Ibou. “Call of the Wild” is a modern-day story incorporating elements of Jack London’s classic short novel. Christopher Lloyd stars as a recently widowed man living in Montana who takes his young granddaughter Ryann (Ariel Gade) in for several weeks while her parents are out of the country. When a wild hybrid wolf/dog shows up injured on the back porch one night, Ryann wants to take him back to Boston as a pet, but her grandfather knows the animal will eventually have to return to the wild. To help his granddaughter understand, he begins to read her Jack London’s “Call of the Wild” each night … but Ryann has ideas of her own, and helps a local boy train the magnificent animal to become a sled dog leader. Timothy Bottoms plays a dark-hearted local bully who tries to claim the dog as his own, and Wes Studi stars as a mysterious mountain man who always seems to appear on the fringe of the action.

Three young Navy officers hit Sydney for one last night on land before being shipped over to the Gulf to fight. Young Andy Barclay sees a commercial for a ‘Good Guy’ doll on TV, and asks his mother for one for his birthday. At work, Andy’s mom and her friend discover a peddler selling one for a low price, and she buys it. What she doesn’t know is that the particular doll contains the spirit of Charles Lee Ray, aka ‘The Lakeshore Strangler’, who died at the hands of police the night before and had transferred his spirit to the doll by voodoo. That night, Andy’s babysitter is pushed from their 5th-floor window to her death, and only young Andy knows that ‘Chucky’ - the doll - is responsible for that a death and a series of murders that follow. In 1923 legendary film director ‘Cecil B. DeMille’ (qv) finished the epic film _Ten Commandments, The (1923)_ (qv). After filming was completed, he bulldozed the sets into the Guadalupe Sand Dunes of the central California coast. Hi reasons for doing so were very mysterious. This story gives an explanation as to why he did it. There was actually a legitimate Egyptian artifact amongst the props but they didn’t know which one was trapping the spirit of an Egyptian avenging god. Mysterious murders and accidents while making the film brings things back to the surface today and it starts all over again.
